I think the residue from my benzoyl peroxide acne wash gets on my towel after washing my face, causing big bleach stains. Some of my towels turn completely orange after a week’s worth of use, others have not been affected at all after having them a year. Is there a particular brand that is immune to the peroxide?

I have pretty bad acne, i’ve tried almost every option out there, but nothing seems to help get rid of it, and the rare times when i found something that did get rid of most of it, the medicine made my face peel…. Does anyone have any suggestions on what acne medicine i should use, that will work but wont make my face peel or itch?

Sam Chim asked:

Everyone will have some form of acne at some point in his or her life. Skin blemishes consist of more than just pimples and affect everyone. Acne affects nearly all teenagers and over seventeen million adults have been affected by acne. What causes the skin to break out? Well one thing that is common in middle-aged woman and young teenagers is hormones.

Hormonal changes in the body will cause acne resulting from clogged pores. When the body produces oils and congregates dirt, the pores in the face or other body parts begin to clog. This is mainly because the oil will cause dirt to stick to your pores. You will also find that stress, cosmetics, and medications will also cause acne to form.

When it comes to acne medicine, you have to be careful. Some acne medicine contains harsh ingredients that will make your skin look and feel even worse. It is best that your doctor finds out if you’re allergic to anything before you take some of the acne medicines that are offered today.

If you are prescribed an oral acne medicine, you may be prescribed Accutane (Isotretinoin) or antibiotics like Tetracycline, Minocycline, Erthromycin, and Doxycycline. Accutane is for severe acne from oil production. Accutane will in fact make sure that your body doesn’t produce so much oil. Because this particular acne medicine stops the body from producing as much oil, you will have side effects like dry skin, lips and the inner parts of your mouth and nose.

You will also be sensitive to sunlight, have abnormal menstrual cycles, depression, inflamed bowels or gums, and can cause severe birth defects. As for the other five acne medicines that were listed above, you will have the side effects such as gastrointestinal upset, diarrhea, sun sensitivity; yeast infections, allergic reactions, and long-time use will cause your body to become immune from the acne medicine. Their main purpose is just to kill bacteria because they are an antibiotic acne medication. If you don’t want to take your medicine orally, you can use a cream or salve.

Acne medicine that comes in the form of a cream is to kill bacteria and unclog your pores. Tetracycline, Erythromycin, Clindamycin, and Benzoyl acne medicines are used to kill bacteria. The side effects of them include, allergic reactions, short-term effectiveness, clothing stains, skin irritation, dry skin, redness, stinging, or sensitivity to sunlight.

Mild Fruit acids like Salicylic or Glycolic acid will open your pores and is known as a natural acne medicine. As for Retinoids, they are creams that contain Vitamin A and will help clear your pores. This acne medicine will irritate skin, dry skin, discolor skin, and increase sun sensitivity. Remember that whatever acne medicine you take, that you are supervised by a professional dermatologist and not just a practicing MD.

Vigdis Tange Andersen asked:

Many people have to deal with acne. This very annoying problem can happen to anyone at anytime in his or her life. Acne is the clogging of pores. They are often times called pimples and can occur on the face, neck, back any many other parts of the body. Acne is some thing that is more common to be found in teenagers and adolescents. It is not restricted to any certain age group and can be found to be a problem for many adults as well.

Having one or two pimples may not be a problem for most people. It is when ‘there is a group of acne’ lurking on your face and body that is uncontrollable. Many people are very self-conscious about their acne problem. It can be hard for anyone to deal with if the problem persists and is out of control.

Using acne medicine is just one way that you can get an acne problem under control. There are many medicines out there on the market for people to purchase. Many of the over the counter acne medicines work just fine. These medications can be used for most people of any age and will resolve the problem with in a few weeks.

There are creams, gels, and even tablets that can help with an acne problem. Many people will find that using the ointments as soon as they see the pimples start to appear will find that the medicine will help the problem. However, some people have to get a prescription for their acne problem in order to get it under control.

The main thing to remember is to keep your face clean. You must use a good cleanser and a good moisturizer in order to keep your face free and clear from any blemishes. You can use many of the toners and cleansers sold in the stores today. Some of the cleaners even have special ingredients in them to clear up or keep away pimples.

Many of the acne medicines on the market are designed to help heal and conceal the blemish. You can find many of the creams out there to be tinted to match your skin tone. This will help to hide the pimple while the acne medicine is helping to heal it. You will feel more confident and at ease when you do not have to worry about showing the world your pimple.

When you eat a good diet, drink plenty of water, cleanse well, and use the right acne medicine, you will have a better complexion and be more confident in the way that you look. It is never too late to take care of your skin and you can improve the way you look and feel.

I just finised using Oxy and that stuff doesn’t even work and i heard about it through this website. I have used almost anything you can think of and have to gone to plenty of dermotologist. Also, don’t believe that Proactive Solution will work! I works for some people, but not me. I’m also allergic to Salysic acid, so that rules out some acne medicine.
