I’m on several drugs for (well documented) Bipolar disorder type 1: Lamictal, Lithium, Effexor, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Provigil, and a few for other illnesses: Advair, Singulair, and Nexium. Could these be the cause of my unrelenting acne? I even have scars from them and it’s embarrasing to be in my 30’s and have acne. I do not break or pick the pimples. The acne just won’t go away, despite many skin treatments containing salacylic acid (My skin turned beet red from benzoyl peroxide). I use antibacterial soap and a soft washcloth on my face twice a day then I put the salycilic acid gel on my entire face. I can’t take the antibiotics that are sometimes given for acne because they screw up my stomach. What can I do?
