Can i ask my Doctor to prescribe me to Minocycline while pregnant? Its an oral pill for acne. I have never had real bad acne problem untill i got pregnant, im guessing from all the hormones is the reason i have it now.

    The counter is ok would ask your obgyn to be sure know to be sure know to be sure know to stay away from retin for sure know to stay away from that but taking something not so strong over the counter is ok would ask your obgyn.

    No, it’s not safe to take. Your doctor will not prescribe it because it causes birth defects. Acne is just part of being pregnant.

    Acne is part of pregnancy. You’re going to have to deal with it. When you’re pregnant, your oil glands (along with everything else your body does) are in overdrive, which is what gives you that “pregnant glow” which also causes acne.
    You can ask your Dr. what is safe, but from someone who’s been there, whatever you try probably won’t work.

    You shouldn’t use any acne medication while pregnant. Not even over the counter. They contain different forms of asprin with the intent of helping with the swelling. A mild face wash is fine, but I wouldn’t go any harsher. I know acne sucks. But its not worth the risk to your baby.
